    Healthy Food!

    July 14, 2008

It was a shocker last night, man! My hubby decided that we should eat healthier (I’m in full agreement) so I asked him to pick up a few things.  Like milk and eggs.  He brought home salad ingredients too. Check out this list!

    • raw mixed nuts
    • green seedless grapes
    • raspberry vinaigrette
    • huge container of fresh, washed, and torn mixed lettuces
    • bell peppers: red, green, orange
    • fresh skinless, boneless chicken breast
    • feta cheese

    Hello!?!?  Can you say yummy?  Truly. Y U M M Y.

It has turned hot here.  So hot that when I take the cheese out of the fridge to shred some, it starts melting.  That must be at least a kazillion°F.  We have a fan blowing directly on the poor soul who ends up cooking dinner.  And I owe my left kidney to my in-laws who bought us an air conditioner!  The girls’ room has one already.  Because being on the third floor of a three-story building is just plain hot in the summer time.  It was heaven last night to climb into bed where it was cool!

So today I feel inspired to create a sandwhich/ light menu for the week.  We need heat-free options around here.  And we’re are getting pretty darn sick tired of McDonalds.

So you can check out some gluten free light options at Strawberries are gluten free .com.

6 months ago, I NEVER could have done this!

    May 13, 2008

Hi there mommies!  Gosh I’ve been having so much fun at mommyfest, that I nearly forgot to post my TOOT.  I just love that (at least you can’t smell it - hehe).  Or, are we the only strange family that affectionately calls passing gas, a toot or a fluff?

Anyhow, yesterday I went for a walk - for a whole 45 minutes!  That is the first exercise for me in MONTHS!  It seems like such a huge hurdle.  So I called the sitter, forked out the whole $5 for the hour, and walked out the door and down the street.  Difficult, eh?  Really?  I never could have done that 6 months ago.  In the depression, my goals were simply to wash my hair, make dinner, watch the children, etc.  And you know what?  Everyone is just fine.  The children are resilient.  They know that we love them.  So if you’re in that yucky place, just relaaaaaax!  It does get better.  But usually only when we stop flogging ourselves!

    Tooting, tooting, tooting!

    April 22, 2008

This is new!!  It is a “toot your own horn” community! rotflol :)  isn’t that hilarious.  I’m ALL IN! And c’mon, get your head outta the gutter - not that kind of toot!

Seriously - I walked to the sitter’s house TWICE today!  Usually I take the car to pick them up.  But noooooooo, I WALKED!  It feels great! :)
Wanna join the Tuesday “Toot”?  This here should help ya out!

    Exercise & mood

    January 30, 2008

    Hello Mommies,

Well, I finally got around to jumping around a bit to a rocking CD.   30 minutes of jumping around.  Not too intense.  And I feel great!!  Coincidence?  Uh, I don’t know.  It has also been sunny around here for a couple days - I think that really helps too.

    Blessings,

    Cathy
