Blog Update
The last week has been ‘learn about blogging’ week! I want my beautiful mommies to come to this site, in front of their computer, feel surrounded with a soothing beautiful background, an inspiring note, and all the information you need for your day at the bottom in the “business” section.
So my current challenge is to learn the language and skill to get that idea into a reality on this site. For a little while, (time as determined by children) the site will be undergoing renovations to improve this little spot on the web. And speaking of challenges, this is one that makes me feel all grown-up and capable. An all together -good thing.
Here are the other self-care items that work for me:
- exercise
- Wash, peel, prepare yummy vegetables and fruits for snacks.
- sit quietly in my garden outside
- tidy living room, set out candles or flowers and sit on my couch.
- Go out every Saturday evening before supper until after children are in bed.
- Get a sitter and go out one afternoon a week.
- Wonder around at discount decorating, and crafting stores.
I have learned through a postpartum depression support group (to learn more about PPPS, click the link to the right.) that I need a list of self-care items to choose from. Because when I need to take care of myself is when it is most likely I won’t want to. We mommies sometimes tend to carry the weight of the world on our shoulders. And sometimes, we just need to let go.
To help create your list, see more self care ideas from LAWC, in London, Ontario.
And, just for fun, here’s a beautiful little note to paste or write your ideas on:

Have a wonderful weekend, Mommies!
